ISSO CURRY (Prawn Curry)


300g of Prawns

4 Garlic Cloves

2 slices ginger chopped

1tbsp chilli powder

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1tbsp of oil

1/2 tsp fenugreek

1/2 inch stem lemon grass

2 inch Cinnamon sticks

1 Sprig Curry leaves

1 Lime juice

1 Cup thick Coconut Milk

Salt to taste



1) Wash the prawns or shrimp well and set aside to drain. Fry the onions, garlic, Ginger, Curry Leaves, Cinnamon and Fenugreek. 

2) Mix the coconut milk with the sauteed onions. Let this boil and drop the prawns or shrimp into the gravy and cook for 5 minutes. 

3) Lastly add the lime juice and salt. Serve when simmered and prawns are tender inside. 

Not: Please devein the raw prawns before cooking.
