Balinese Jam Chicken Curry


4 Chicken legs 

Novice Kitchen Balinese Jam

2 tbs Curry Powder

200ml Coconut Cream



Olive Oil

1 Garlic Clove

Black ground pepper 

1 Stock Cube

50ml Water 

Fresh Coriander

1 Large Yellow Onion

All Purpose Seasoning 


In a bowl add the chicken legs and season generously with salt, pepper, all purpose seasoning and a touch of olive oil (feel free to season the chicken with other spices you like, thats part of the fun of cooking)

In a frying pan add a generous splash of olive oil on a medium to high heat. 

Place the chicken legs skin side down and brown the chicken until the skin is crispy and golden. 

Once the chicken is golden and crispy, place them in an oven at 195c for 45 minutes 

Whilst the chicken is in the oven, chop the onion into half moons and dice the garlic clove. 

Place the onions into the same frying pan you browned the chicken in and stir

After about 2 minutes add 2tbs of Curry Powder and stir on a medium to low heat

Add in a tiny splash of olive oil and the diced garlic, stir continuously so the garlic doesn't burn. 

Add in 2 generous teaspoons of Novice Kitchen Balinese Jam and 200ml of coconut cream and 1 stock cube, let this simmer for 2-3 minutes

Once the chicken is cooked, ass this to the curry sauce with the chicken juices and combine all together.

Once this is cooked garnish with some chopped fresh coriander. 

Serve with some Naan and rice and ENJOY NOVICES!!
